Week in Struggle: January 1-7


Poor peasants in the Canaã revolutionary area, led by the League of Poor Peasants, are preparing resistance as the reactionary Old State in service to large landowners once again try to evict them from their land. The 100 peasant families in Canaã, located in the municipality of Ariquemes, Rondônia, have turned previously fallow lands into a productive agricultural area and provide food to the surrounding area for nearly 20 years since they originally settled there.

Popular lawyers and defenders of the people’s rights have also denounced the criminal actions of the state of Rondônia, their comments can be read here.

Additional images of graffiti promoting the election boycott in Brazil have also been documented over the past week, with slogans including “National Production, Work, and Decent Wages!” “Defend the Life of Chairman Gonzalo and his All-Powerful Thought!,” “Vaccine for the People Now!,” and “Down with the Government of Generals and their Fascist Captain!,” combined with “Elections No, Revolution Yes!” and “Elections No, People’s War Yes!”


The revolutionaries of Corriente del Pueblo Sol Rojo recently announced the passing of their close comrade and fighter for the people, Comrade Joel. They write:

“Comrade Joel Gutiérrez López, president of the Commissariat of Communal Assets of Santa Cruz Tagolaba, Tehuantepec, has passed away. The ‘Inge.’ He was part of the historical contingent of the Current of the People Red Sun, he was a prominent militant and defender of people’s rights. The comrade was at the forefront of the organizational process and the fight against the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. Comrade Joel, you live on in the fight!”

The revolutionary movement in Upper Austria brought in the new year by documenting activists and supporters with signs reading, “2021 Combat and Resist!” as well as a propaganda display complete with flairs and fireworks.


Activists with Anti Imperialist Action in Dublin held an action in solidarity with the Palestinian national liberation straggle, as well as Ahmad Sa’adat, political prisoner of the Israeli state and General Secretary of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

United States


Graffiti was documented denouncing the Austin Police Department (APD) for the killing of Alex Gonzales with the slogans “APD Killed Again! RIP Alex Gonzales and Mike Ramos!” and “APD are Murderers!”

Graffiti was also sighted with the slogans “There Is No Hope in Elections, It Is Right To Rebel!,” “US Democracy Is Bankrupt!,” and “The Working Class Can Have Only One Party, Reconstitute the Communist Party!”

Elsewhere, wall paintings were documented in solidarity with the People’s War in India reading, “Long Live the People’s War in India! Long Live the 20th Anniversary of the PLGA!” as well as the poor peasants resisting state repression in Camp Osmir Venuto with the slogan “Solidarity with Camp Osmir Venuto! Land to Those Who Live and Work On It!”

Kansas City

Graffiti was documented in Kansas City against evictions with the slogans “Fight Evictions!,” “No Evictions,” and “No Back Rent.”

Graffiti was also seen in solidarity with the League of Poor Peasants with Brazil reading “Long Live the Agrarian Revolution! Solidarity with the LCP!”

Elsewhere, graffiti reading, “US Democracy is Bankrupt!” was also documented.

New England

The Tribune Support Committee in New England also documented the distribution of our editorial on the 127th Anniversary of Chairman Mao’s birth
