Editors’ Note: We are pleased to share a message and an article submitted by a Chinese reader of Tribune of the People in commemoration of the anniversary of the death of Chairman Mao Zedong, which is marked on September 9. The reader also uses the occasion to raise the call to defend Chairman Gonzalo, who is currently facing imminent threats to his life by the Peruvian state, with the backing of US imperialism.
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the death of Chairman Mao. Being Chinese and a Maoist, this day has a special meaning for me. We are not limited to commemorating the death of Chairman Mao. We should also note that Chairman Gonzalo is still suffering in prison. The two of them are not only socialist revolutionaries in their own countries, they belong to the entire world. In the 20th and 21st centuries, the international socialist movements made their outstanding contributions, so I wrote this article to express my memory of Chairman Mao and my concern for the health of Chairman Gonzalo.
On September 9, 1979, China‘s great proletarian revolutionary Mao Zedong passed away. After that, Deng Xiaoping, a Chinese revisionist and socialist traitor, reached the pinnacle of Chinese power. Since then, a great socialist country has embarked on the road of capitalism and transformed into a social-imperialist country.
Chairman Mao is the most important leader of the Chinese revolution, leading the Chinese people to victory after victory, liberating the Chinese people from imperialist oppression, and letting the Chinese people stand up. This year is the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the glorious party once led by this great leader, the Communist Party of China. A large part of this 100-year history is closely related to the leadership of Chairman Mao.
When Chairman Mao was alive, he made contributions not only to the socialist revolution in China, but also to the socialist revolution in the world. During the GPCR period, Mao Zedong‘s thought spread all over the world, setting off the climax of the socialist revolution worldwide. Charu Majumdar, a socialist revolutionary in India, once said: “The chairman of China is our chairman.” This chairman is Mao Zedong. His thoughts also guided the Turkish revolution. During the short life course of İbrahim Kaypakkaya, he carried out the revolution under the influence of Chairman Mao‘s thought.
Nowadays, the great man has passed away, but the theory of thought has not gone with one of them. In Peru, Chairman Gonzalo inherited it, carried it forward, and spread it to the revolutionary struggles of the world. This is the birth of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism.
However, in China, in a country created by Chairman Mao himself, the people can only accept “Mao Zedong” packaged by a revisionist government. On the packaging of the authorities, I saw that they turned Mao Zedong into a god, removed all the things Mao proposed about the proletariat and socialism, and packaged this great revolutionary as a vulgar national hero. One is to sell his nationalist theory, and the other is to “remove Mao Zedong” in essence. In China, many people have clearly seen the purpose of the current social-imperialist government and restored a real Mao Zedong through numerous articles. But this kind of truth will not be allowed by the government, so they wantonly arrested these people for “disturbing public order” or “conspiring to subvert state power.”
In China today, a small group of people have repeatedly declared “Xi Jinping is the true successor of Mao Zedong, and he is fighting against the revisionists in China.” My evaluation of this is nonsense.
What many people don’t know is that some Maoists in China are arrested by the police and this is the work of Xi Jinping. What Xi Jinping represents has never been the interests of the Chinese proletariat. The claim that “Xi Jinping is fighting against the capital roaders” is just the struggle between different factions of the Chinese imperialist bourgeoisie.
Today, Chairman Gonzalo is in a prison in Peru and his life and health are threatened. Marxist-Leninist-Maoist parties all over the world have issued statements to protect Chairman Gonzalo‘s life. As Marxist-Leninist-Maoists in China, we should not only commemorate the death of Chairman Mao on such a day, but also make such a voice in the process of commemoration, “Defend the life of Chairman Gonzalo!”
Long live Marxism-Leninism-Maoism!
Give back to the Chinese people a true Chairman Mao!
Long live Chairman Mao!
Defend the life of Chairman Gonzalo!
