Chairman Gonzalo, Once More, Defeats the Reaction Who, in the Attempt to Liquidate the People’s War, Took 29 years to Physically Annihilate Him. Chairman Gonzalo lives!

September 11, 2021 is engraved in the minds of communists, the international proletariat, and the popular masses of the whole world, especially in Peru, as a reason for great sadness and pain. After 29 years of absolute isolation, buried alive in the maximum security prison of the Callao Naval Base in Lima, Peru, in the most inhumane conditions of torture and total lack of healthcare that led to skin cancer transforming into metastasis, the physical annihilation of Chairman Gonzalo by reaction materialized. Chairman Gonzalo is the great leader of the Peruvian proletariat, master of masters, greatest Marxist-Leninist-Maoist to ever live on the face of the earth, follower of Marx, Lenin, and Chairman Mao, and leader of the World Proletarian Revolution; Chairman Gonzalo lives and will continue to live on through Gonzalo Thought that, more and more, is unfurled, embodied, and applied by communists around the world.

Chairman Gonzalo is the leader of the Communist Party of Peru (PCP) and the Peruvian Revolution, forging himself as such in a long period of tempestuous struggles against revisionism and all opportunism, to reconstitute the Communist Party of Peru as an authentic Marxist-Leninist-Maoist communist party, to initiate and lead to triumph the Protracted People’s War, through the uninterrupted New Democratic to Socialist Revolution, as part of and in service to the World Proletarian Revolution.

Still in the prime of his youth, Abimael Guzmán became interested in politics at the end of his high school studies, back in 1950, but it was at university that, through student struggles, he became interested in Marxism. A great admirer of Comrade Stalin, whose figure left a deep impression on him, he studied his life and began his studies fixed in Leninism. He joined the Communist Party and participated in the defense of Comrade Stalin when the defamatory and counter-revolutionary campaign of modern revisionism against him was unleashed.

For work, in 1962, he traveled to Ayacucho (a mainly agrarian city in the Peruvian Andes), and ended up staying there for years, where he took notice of the gravity of the Peruvian peasantry and came to understand Chairman Mao and his importance in the anti-revisionist struggle. He began to unfurl Mao Zedong Thought (Maoism, as understood during that time).

From this point on, he dedicated himself exclusively to Party militancy and focused on the struggle against revisionism, forging and directing the Marxist-Leninist-Mao Zedong Thought Red Faction and returning to Jose Carlos Mariátegui in order to reconstitute the Communist Party of Peru, a task which was completed after 17 years (1979), intervening in the class struggle through the only Marxist tactic of forging the Party and masses in revolutionary violence and in the implacable struggle against opportunism and the difficult two-line struggle. This is where Comrade Gonzalo rose, who would later become the undisputed leader, Chairman Gonzalo, the guarantor of the Revolution’s triumph and the center of party unity.

On May 17, 1980, under his masterful direction, at the head of the Central Committee of the PCP, the people’s war was unleashed, which reached strategic equilibrium in the early 1990s. In directing the people’s war, applying the universal truths of Marxism-Leninism Mao Zedong Thought to the reality of Peru, integrating them with the practice of the Peruvian revolution, understanding that the ideology of the proletariat had leaped to a new stage, concluding that it was not just Mao Zedong Thought, but Maoism. Thus Chairman Gonzalo defined Maoism by elevating it to the third, new, and superior stage of Marxism. Developing, in this process, the guiding thought of the Peruvian Revolution as Gonzalo Thought. As the leader of the PCP and of the Peruvian revolution, through the people’s war he gave still other contributions of universal validity to the World Proletarian Revolution.

Among them, the need to militarize communist parties to face reaction, which increasingly militarizes society for the counter-revolution. The militarization of the party also serves to achieve the general armament of the people to sustain the New Power, and guarantees the Party’s leadership over the three instruments of revolution (the Communist Party, the People’s Army, and the United Front) – which also averts capitalist restoration after the conquest of Power.

It was Chairman Gonzalo who systematized the experience of the proletariat and the communist parties and contributed the universal thesis of great leadership and guiding thought. In every revolution, militants, cadres, leaders, and great leaders are generated, but mainly great leadership—by historical necessity and chance—is the one who prominently and demonstrably leads, for a long time, theoretically and practically, the application of universal ideology to the revolution in a country, resolving its particular problems. Great leadership, which is the materialization of and is based on a guiding thought, which is the specification of the universal ideology to each country, from which the program and general political line of each revolution emerges.

Contributions whose assimilation and application are matters of major importance for advancing the revolutions that are gestating and those that are already active in the camp of the International Communist Movement. With the fall of the Central Committee in 1992, Chairman Gonzalo was placed in isolation and a colossal heap of revisionist trash was thrown onto his titanic theoretical-practical work, to try to impute to him participation in “peace accords” and to present him as a paltry capitulator, a position actually taken by former leader Miriam and her Movement for Amnesty and Fundamental Rights (MOVADEF, Movimiento por Aministía y Derechos Fundamentales).

The unfading figure of Chairman Gonzalo was, is and will continue to be for the popular masses of Peru and all over the world, a huge beacon that calls for a general rebellion against exploitation and oppression. He was, is, and will continue to be a scathing cry of war against the entire world reaction. Even in luminous Communism, he will continue to be remembered as one of the great leaders who opened the way for the total and complete emancipation of all humanity.

The Physical Annihilation of Chairman Gonzalo

On September 11, various organs of the Peruvian reactionary press reported with hysterical frenzy the physical death of Chairman Gonzalo. Abimael Guzmán had been suffering all kinds of hardships and without any medical care, despite his age, 82 years old, and his serious health condition.

Since September 12, 1992, Chairman Gonzalo had been isolated in an underground cell below sea level at the Callao Naval Base in Lima. The weeks before his death were marked by a series of serious allegations that the old Peruvian state was denying him adequate medical care.

The death of Chairman Gonzalo was disclosed in the early morning hours of September 11 and was confirmed by his lawyer, who stated that the navy had reported his death. An official of Peru’s prison system told the Peruvian radio station, Radio Programs of Peru (RPP, Radio Programas del Perú), that Chairman Gonzalo has been ill in recent months and was discharged from a hospital in early August and that he has been getting worse in his final days.

A Peruvian navy prison official said in a statement that Chairman Gonzalo’s death took place on Saturday at approximately 6:40am local time at the Callao Naval Base’s Maximum Security Detention Center. The reason given was “complications with his health condition.”

Starting in July, the reactionary Peruvian armed forces (which control the entire prison complex in which Chairman Gonzalo was imprisoned for 29 uninterrupted years) began releasing a series of statements about his health. In one of them, it was stated that Chairman Gonzalo had suffered from untreated skin cancer which had metastasized. Since then, a series of actions demanding his immediate release in order to provide adequate medical treatment for the illness were carried out by revolutionaries from several countries.

The Communist Most Hated by Reaction

Reactionary politicians, big bourgeois, and landlords also followed the usual path: defaming the greatest proletarian leader of our time. Hernando de Soto, a bourgeois economist who advised the presidencies of Alan Garcia and Fujimori, during the first years of the people’s war in Peru, stated that “I will see to it that Gonzalo Thought dies with him,” in his vain desire as a bloodthirsty hyena to prevent the proletariat and the Peruvian people from fighting against the old order of oppression and exploitation. In the same vein, former minister Carlos Morán stated that “we hope that with his death this macabre ideology ends.”

Chairman Gonzalo Once Again Defeats the Reaction that, in an Attempt to End the People’s War, Took 29 Years to Physically Annihilate Him

The reactionary press monopolies rushed to break the news, attaching to it a series of disgraceful insults against the memory of the great leader of the international proletariat. And even the most reactionary journalists from among the Peruvian monopolies admitted that there are a number of issues that the old Peruvian state insisted on keeping secret, such as the location of Chairman Gonzalo’s body, where he spent the last days of his life, and why there was no information on what other military base the leader of the Peruvian Revolution had been taken.

All this is nothing more than confirmations from the mouths of reactionaries of what the international campaign promoted by a number of communist parties and organizations of the International Communist Movement (ICM) have been asserting since the latest news about the serious state of Chairman Gonzalo’s health. The most recent actions taken by the reactionaries that have surfaced in recent days has been characterized by Marxist-Leninist-Maoists as a new shady move by the old Peruvian state in the service of the Yankee CIA in order to annihilate the life of the world’s main prisoner of war.

According to a communique from the Peru People’s Movement (MPP), in Europe (the PCP’s organization for international work) in July this year, the objective of the old Peruvian state was to use Low Intensity Warfare (LIW) tactics to assassinate Chairman Gonzalo. To this end, they made use of the maintenance of his absolute and perpetual isolation at the Navy Base, in an individual underground cell and only had contact with the outside world through his executioners, subject to manipulation and all sorts of psychological torture. In this objective, former members of the PCP leadership, capitulators against the continuation of the people’s war, heads of the Right Opportunist Line (ROL) that was organized in prisons to carry out their plans to destroy the party, created MOVADEF, the Peruvian reaction and the intelligence services of Yankee imperialism (CIA) and Peru converged on the objective of assassinating him and trying to turn him into a vulgar capitulator.

The same MPP, in a statement entitled Chairman Gonzalo has Defeated the Reactionary Plan to Deal a Definitive Blow to the People’s War issued after the death of the communist leader, reported that “with immense emotion and deep pain, with our fists raised and singing songs of war and victory under the red flags with sickles and hammers raised to the top and firmly attached to the Leadership of Chairman Gonzalo and his almighty Thought, that Chairman Gonzalo has given his life for the unfading Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, the Party and the people’s war in the highest luminous trench of combat at the Callao Naval Base, according to the reaction media yesterday, September 11, 2021, at 6:40AM.”

“With the sacrifice of his own life Chairman Gonzalo has derailed the CIA-Yankee reaction-right opportunist line’s plan to destroy him as Head of the Party and the revolution, as the greatest living Marxist-Leninist-Maoist on the face of the Earth, seeking to slander him as a revisionist and capitulator, as a renegade of Maoism, the People’s War, and the PCP. This monstrous and infamous crime against the most important revolutionary prisoner of war in the world as part of the genocide against the Peruvian people has been carried out by government mandate of the counterrevolutionary patrolman Pedro Castillo Terrones. The reactionary plan applied for about 29 years always crashed against the unbending and unrelenting fierce resistance of the great proletarian leader, a great communist, who became a prisoner of war of the old Peruvian state who transformed the concentration camp of the Callao Naval Base into the highest luminous trench of combat.

“Chairman Gonzalo, like the communists, combatants, children of the masses during the more than 41 years of people’s war in Peru, wielding ideology, courage, and heroism boldly displayed in flaming warfare defiance, giving his life for the people’s war” says the MPP.

The PCP’s party organization continues: “Chairman Gonzalo has conquered a great political, military and moral victory for Maoism, the Communist Party of Peru, the people’s war, the democratic revolution in uninterrupted march towards socialism and communism, the class, the Peruvian people and the peoples of the world, for the international communist movement. September 11 will be remembered by all communists on Earth for this great historical significance of universal scope.

“We are sure that the communists, revolutionaries and peoples of the world will mobilize highlighting this great act of giving the life of Chairman Gonzalo in a bold and flaming warlike challenge for the people’s war to culminate with the seizure of power throughout the country and move immediately to develop the socialist revolution and through successive cultural revolutions, always with people’s war, enter with all humanity the always golden communism.”

“The Chairman as the great communist leader, uniting theory and practice, has fulfilled what he has taught: he has paid the quota, it is the basic principle of war that makes us see how the good of all necessarily demands the sacrifice of a part. The surrendering of his own life is a call to persist in the people’s war, his blood has been generously shed; he has given his life, his blood; this is how we have seen his blood how red is the blood of our Chairman, of the revolutionaries and the communists. That as he taught, he has fructified to make the New Power bear fruit among us, but he has also generously fructified to illuminate the world, because that is what he is doing. The Chairman has reached the maximum expression that one can give to endorse one’s believes: to give his own life.”

Chairman Gonzalo’s life, like that of party comrades, EPL combatants and children of the masses, as he said: “These are heroic lives, well lived, gloriously invested, and above all, sealed on the battlefield, sowing communism.”

And finally: “The heroic death of Chairman Gonzalo should serve to give a more powerful impetus to the still pending task of overcoming the complex and difficult situation in which the people’s war entered after his arrest and mainly due to the betrayal of the rats of the right opportunist line, who are revisionist and capitulationist. It was structured in prisons with the help of the Yankee CIA and the Peruvian reaction, led by the rat Miriam. The right opportunist line, which called for an end to the people’s war, that is, to betray the people’s war, to deny Chairman Gonzalo and Maoism and Gonzalo Thought, the Basis of Party Unity approved in the First Congress of the PCP, all in exchange for better prison conditions and serve the plans of imperialism and the reaction to destroy the Party Headquarters and Gonzalo Thought, serving the absolute and perpetual isolation of the Chairman. First repeating the reactionary hoax of the “peace letters and talks,” then “asking for a political solution to the problems derived from the war,” in other words amnesty, and then mounting the revisionist grotesque movement for the defense of fundamental rights and amnesty, to try to legalize and participate in the reactionary elections like Movadef and also since 2012 to crawl behind the counterrevolutionary patrolman Pedro Castillo Terrones to seek to capture the Sutep Struggle Committee, which they achieved in the teachers’ strike of 2017, to which they betrayed in the service of the employer (the Old State).”

“Continuing their dark path of service to the old state, they formed the opportunist party Perú Libre, owned by the gamonalillo Cerrón and family, to occupy posts at the service of the old state and its reactionary government and to put themselves in service of the three tasks, the need for imperialism and reaction: to reinvigorate bureaucratic capitalism, restructure the old state and annihilate the people’s war, mainly trying to give it a “definitive blow” with the annihilation of Chairman Gonzalo.”
